We would like to introduce Alina Patris, our teen blogger.  Alina is Chicago born and raised, and she loves fashion, music and volleyball.  She has done some magazine and ad modeling, and has also participated in LFW, at our Teen day runway show.   Alina likes to share with our teen readers some of her fashion ideas and observations.  She would love to hear from all of you regarding your ideas about fashion, music, the arts, or whatever you think is important for LFW to know.

We hope you will join us at the Zhou B. Art Center on Thursday, November 3rd, for the LFW Teen Day Fashion Show and Family Pavilion.  There will be an  AWSUM panel, followed by a full teen fashion runway show, where designer Jorge Perez de la Habana will premier his Quinceañera line. Alina will be there, as will Zoë Damacela, designer and Seventeen Magazine’s “Pretty Amazing” cover winner, Nicole Suarez, Nuestra Belleza Latina of Chicago, and other great surprises.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Been awhile. I’ve been crazy busy with high school and volleyball and homework and friends. Ahh it’s absolute insanity. I just needed to check in and update everyone. First and foremost, LATINO FASHION WEEK IS COMING UP!!
Yah it’s that awesome that I had to change the size and font. You better be going! It will be amazing. They have some sweet designers and it’s at the Zhou B Art Gallery which is one of the coolest places ever.
Now that it’s fall, things are going to start getting a little cooler, but that doesn’t mean you have to hide out in bulky clothes. I really like tucking in shirts and putting long sweaters over them. These are some outfits from one of my new fav stores, Francesca’s Collections. They have adorable clothes and some of the most amazing jewelry ever. And they aren’t that expensive! LOVIN IT.


Then here’s me, since I’m not really a skirt person.

I put on some jeggings and a cute little belt I got at a thrift store with one of my favorite sweaters. Then I threw that hoodie over it to give it a laid back feel and so I don’t freeze. And the earrings, though you can’t see them too well, are from Francesca’s. (: Not my best photo but you get the idea.
Also, I suggest you stock up on some cool rain or snow boots! Across the country it’s going to be a pretty bad winter.

Art in Fashion

Celebrating our 5th Year Anniversary, with the theme of “Art in Fashion,” Latino Fashion Week will be highlighting and honoring the art that is fashion. To further grow and share a greater understanding of that art; we will be holding fashion events, artistic displays, lounges, and a three day Expo, with a variety of creative and educational communications. In partnership with Zhou B Art Center, we look forward to having an amazing group of artists for the following exhibition which will take place all week. “CelebrARTE” is a contemporary art exhibition that celebrates the Latino spirit, imagination and creative force. Curated by Sergio Gomez for the Zhou B. Art Center in collaboration with 33 Contemporary Gallery.
